Database Team Mission, Goals, & Objectives

Mission Statement

Provide proactive support of database systems across all platforms to ensure a stable and efficient data processing environment for our customers.

Document problem resolutions
Maintain reliable database backups
Provide timely response to critical requests through 24/7 on-call support
Provide response to non-critical customer requests
Establish data security by reviewing current security levels every six months and modifying if necessary
Maintain data security procedures
Engage in regular performance management of databases, application, and files/tables
Install software upgrades and preventative maintenance to all databases

Coordinate change management through PCM
Coordinate problem resolutions
Continue and improve documentation and documentation procedures
Communicate problem status to users daily until resolution is accomplished
Improve communication with CIS Operations department
Establish application liaison and primary vendor technical contacts
Provide customers with documentation about what information the Database Team needs to resolve problems and fulfill requests

Identify training necessary to fulfill DB Team mission and pursue personal and professional growth.
