CIS has committed to a course of action that will result in all NetID passwords being changed by the end of November, 2005. After this, passwords will age and expire after SIX (6) months. The plan is for this process to be automated and keyed to an individual's account and will expire after six months. That means passwords will be expiring every day and we will no longer do this mass change.
This page will be used to list the schedule of events for the remainder of calendar year 2005.

Please note email messages are being sent to individuals whose accounts need to change their password. If someone receives a notice, they should pay attention since this is a customized, directed message.
Proxy holders are being contacted via a separate email message asking them to help with this process. If you are a proxy to a number of accounts in your department, please get with your customers to help them update their passwords. Please alert personnel in your department about the password change requirements and the deadlines. Individuals who use email clients such as Eudora or Outlook Express must change their passwords too, so let them know about these deadlines.
A number of email customers may have configured their client applications to save their password. While this makes checking mail very convenient, it does pose a challenge for password management. CIS will always send email to customers alerting them that their password will be expiring soon. Please pay attention and do not disregard the notice.
