The NetID is the username that Texas A&M students, faculty, staff, and affiliates use to access a variety of campus computing facilities. From TAMU Email (Neo) to online student records management (MyRecord), and a host of other services, the NetID is the passport to TAMU Online.
Several methods are used to authenticate members of the Texas A&M community. The Central Authentication System is a java application that runs on a dedicated server, netid.tamu.edu or netid-dev.tamu.edu for development. Client software on other Web services connect to the netid.tamu.edu server to authenticate and process user login requests. Cookies must be set on the client browser for the service to work properly. User authentication is also available through Kerberos and LDAP.
