You can easily create mail filters in the new TAMU Email by clicking on the preferences tab, then the mail filters tab, then new filter. Name the new filter, we will call ours spam. The next option you have is to filter out emails that meet ANY or ALL the criteria; we will choose ALL. Next click the drop down arrow on the tab labeled subject. This will allow you to see the various options for which you can filter emails. We will choose "subject". The tab to the right allows you to specify your filter even more and in our case we will choose "contains" and then we will type the word you are wanting to filter. For our example I am going to filter out emails that have the word sweepstake in the subject. To add more filters click the plus icon. Next you can choose where you want this filter to feed into. We will choose for this to be marked and then we will choose for these messages to be flagged. Be careful if you choose to discard these messages because you will never be able to access them. Once you have created the new filter you always have the option of turning it on or off. The box labeled active gives you this control.
