X-Windows Software

The XWindows software is $20. The current license will last until August 2007. After that time, it will be $20 to renew the license to last until August 2008. To get a license, the SELL will need the IP address of the machine XWindows is going to be installed on.

To find your IP address

From a DOS Prompt, enter the following command while online:
ipconfig /all
Among the information listed is your IP Address. This is what the SELL will need to configure an X-Win license for you.

Description of Software

Micro X is a Microsoft Windows program that will turn a PC into an X Window System server. Micro X will allow X client programs located on other computers on the local area network to connect to your computer, and will use your computer to display the results using the MIT X11 protocol. You must know your IP address before the SELL can give you the correct activation code. The IP address ranges we have activation codes for are:

  • 128.194.x.x
  • 165.91.x.x
  • 172.16.x.x

We will provide instructions to download and the keycode necessary to activate the program.
